It is designed to teach Christian values in ways that are appropriate for different age groups.

The Solution: Bridges and Boundaries

This dual-purpose program teaches Catholic faith formation alongside safe environment protocol.

Bridges and Boundaries helps children and their parents understand what it means to be made in God’s image and likeness through Pope St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, while also learning to recognize violations against the dignity of the human person, and how to respond with the body as a boundary.

Who is the Program For?

B&B PreK-2nd grade core video screenshot

PreK-2nd Grade

Videos for the littles celebrate life while guiding children to tell parents about anything that seems strange.

B&B 3rd-5th grade animation video screenshot

3rd-5th Grade

Animations emphasize proper interactions among friends through stories that dramatize potential scenarios. Flashbacks hone in on “red flags” where the main character responds with the body as a boundary, which includes telling a trusted adult.

6th-8th Grade

Students learn about the body as a bridge through what it means to be made in God’s image, proper friendship, and the Eucharist. They also learn about the “ABC’s of the Body as a Boundary,” by walking through safe environment scenarios such as bullying, online violations, and reporting. As the age group most susceptible to grooming, this section also includes an additional video specifically covering that topic.

Popular Questions

No. Theology of the Body is what we call “Christian Anthropology”. That’s a technical way of saying, a Christian view on what it means to be human. Our books don’t mention sex or sexuality at all until 7th grade—and even then, only in a veiled, sacred manner.

While our curriculum is designed to be vertically aligned, each level also stands alone. We always recommend starting an education in Theology of the Body as soon as possible, but it’s never too late to start!

  • 2 Lesson Books per level: Each 48-page book is non-consumable with 4 lessons per book. Kindergarten books only have 2 lessons, and PreK has a classroom set of 3 board books.
  • Educator Guides: PDFs that contain instructions, activities, assessments. Schools receive guides for free with purchase of books.
  • Parent Guides: Guides parents to learn and engage with their children. Schools receive guides for free with purchase of books.
  • Storybooks: TOB themed stories for our K-2nd grade levels. Sold separately.

We recommend each child have a book in hand. We designed the illustrations and diagrams to engage children as they learn the material. The experience of holding the book and reading along, as opposed to seeing a projection of the book on a screen, helps with this engagement.
