Even Jesus Himself told parables and stories that made little to no mention of God the Father, such as the parable of the sower (Luke 8:4-8), or the lamp placed under the bushel basket (Mark 4:21-23), or the workers receiving just wages after working in the vineyard (Matt 10:1-16). Jesus explained some of these parables to His disciples to spell out the allegorical meanings behind them, but He didn’t always explain Himself to every listener. Sometimes these stories were simply seeds of truth which were planted in the heart of the listener. With some pondering and consideration, the listener could develop a greater understanding of the Truth about God and His creation and what St. John Paul calls the “inner movements of the heart.” After all, the heart is the battlefield between love and concupiscence (See TOBET’s Level 7 of The Body Matters, in the book The Body and the Heart) .

I agree with you. If you saw the newest version of Top Gun, I was surprised in the second remake that the lead actor was sleeping with his girl friend but when her daughter came home he was worried about the daughter catching him in bed with her mom. He crawled out the window so he wouldn’t get caught. Even though what he was doing was wrong I thought it was great that the movie showed he had a moral moment where he realized this was not a good thing to be doing in front of a teen age daughter. It was not a Christian movie, but his actions spoke volumes to those who do this often in our culture that “it was not okay to do this in view of a child!”
Very true! Mindfulness and self-awareness are keys to self betterment all around, and it’s good to see that it can still exist in Hollywood.
Important message to me. Thanks! I have a movie script idea that would try to a accomplish what you say: spreading Gospel truth and values, without naming those Hollywood tabbos like Jesus. Have you ever heard of the Catholic League of Decency? You maybe interested in this organization that for decades controlled what movies the public saw. They had a lot of influence. It changed in the 1960s to the Ratings system we have today. Keep up the great work
Appreciate the feedback! There are several avenues of “gatekeepers” in Hollywood, but having a Catholic organization sounds fantastic. Will look into that one.
